Hi! I'm Carolyn. I'm a writer, visual artist and editor based in Dumfries in the southwest of Scotland. If you're wondering what that thing on my head is, it's a two collections of poetry – The Chips are Down Here in Lockdown (OrangeApple Press, 2021) and COW (Osmosis Press,2022), her work has also appeared in several publications including Gutter, From Glasgow to Saturn, Tentacular, perverse and BlueHouse Journal. Carolyn is the founder and editor of online journal Skirting Around which explores the politics of women’s clothing through creative writing and visual art. She has collaborated with writers, artists and poets based in the UK and Japan to produce public art, live performances, and anthologies. In no particular order Carolyn has also been a distillery tour guide, a local newspaper reporter, a teacher, and a waitress. Before returning to her home in Scotland in 2013, she lived in Japan for twenty years, and she feels as much at home in the crowded streets of Tokyo as she does in the forests and shorelines of Dumfries and Galloway.
