Carolyn Hashimoto is a writer, editor and mentor based in Scotland. She is the author of two collections of poetry, The Chips are Down Here in Lockdown (OrangeApple Press, 2021) and COW (Osmosis Press, 2022) and her work has appeared in numerous publications including Gutter, 3:AM Magazine, From Glasgow to Saturn, Tentacular, perverse, BlueHouse Journal and Gilded Dirt. Working with writers, artists and poets in the UK and Japan, Carolyn has worked on community projects, taken part in live performances and appeared in several anthologies. Besides her own writing, Carolyn is also the founder and editor of online journal Skirting Around, which explores the politics of women’s clothing through creative writing and visual art, now in its third year of publication. Before returning to her home in Scotland in 2013, Carolyn lived in Tokyo for twenty years.
